Puffer or fleece: which vest is yours

All four vests share one heating layout: nine carbon-fiber panels across the neck, the back and around the two zippered hand pockets, switched on by holding the chest logo for three seconds. The same button sets the heat: Low at 104°F, Medium at 122°F or High at 140°F. The 10,000 mAh 5V bank that runs them sits in an inner pocket and comes in the box with every vest.

What separates them is the fabric. The quilted puffer has a shell that blocks wind and repels light rain, so you can wear it as your outer layer. It is also the vest we rate for runtime, up to 10 hours. The fleece is soft, quiet and has a stand-up collar, and it is the one to wear under a coat. Both come in men's S to 3XL and women's S to 2XL.

About Soleilwear heated vests

Wear the puffer as your outer layer on a dry, windy day: its shell blocks wind and repels light rain. Wear the fleece under a coat: it is soft, quiet and has a stand-up collar.

Nine carbon-fiber panels: at the neck, across the back and on each side of the lower back, and around and above the two zippered hand pockets. The fleece vest adds the chest to that list.

The 10,000 mAh bank in the box has two USB ports, so it can run the vest and top up a phone at the same time.
